About the role
Event bouncers are the first people guests meet and the last line of calm when a crowd gets busy. The job is less about strength and more about reading people, holding a line politely and stepping in early.
You will work as part of a team led by a duty supervisor, with a briefing before every event and a radio on shift.
What you’ll do
- Check passes, invitations and guest lists at entry points
- Frisk and bag-check guests where the client requires it
- Keep queues moving and walkways, exits and stage fronts clear
- Escort VIPs, the couple or performers between areas
- Spot early signs of trouble and de-escalate without force
- Report incidents to the supervisor and note them in the duty log
Where you’ll work
Every client is different. Here is what each type of assignment involves and what the client usually asks of the team.
Weddings & receptions
Gate and entry control, crowd flow at the stage, escort for the bride, groom and family.
Formal dress, a respectful manner with elders and guests, and discretion around family matters.
Concerts & festivals
Barricade lines, stage-front safety, ticket checks and crowd surges at entry and exit.
Stamina for long standing shifts, clear radio use and firm, calm crowd handling.
Clubs & private parties
Door policy, ID checks, managing intoxicated guests and safe exits at closing.
Patience at night, zero tolerance for aggression and quick escalation to the supervisor.
